AREA-III (SOUTH)
CONCOR had carried out an internal restructuring which involved compressing eight regions into four Areas as part of a strategy to rationalize operations, better utilize human resources,cut costs and boost revenue and also help the organization to have faster and decentralized decision making by empowering field units to improve operational efficiency. Based on the above lines, the erstwhile regions of Southern and South Central were merged into Area III(South) which now comprises of two clusters namely Chennai Cluster and Vishakapatnam Cluster headed by Cluster heads to look after the Business Development & operations of their respective clusters and reports to the Area Head.
The Chennai Cluster has its headquarters (the Cluster Office) at Chennai and covers the States of Kerala, Tamilnadu and Karnataka. Similarly, Visakhapatnam Cluster has its headquarters (the Cluster Office) at Vishakhapatnam and covers the States of Andhrapradesh, Telangana and Chattisgarh. Thus Area3-South is proud to be a truly multi-modal facilitator in that it handles cargo by Road, Rail, Air and via the coastal shipping route.

Due to the geography of the area, the Area has concentrated heavily on developing both rail and road services, and providing value added services especially in the area of warehousing, LCL movements, air cargo etc. The Area has several firsts to its credit, especially in the warehousing business, including 1.The company’s first bonded ware house 2.Air-conditioned storage of cargo and multi stack warehousing at Bangalore. Bonded trucking services for Export LCL consolidation from, and delivery of LCL imports to hinterland locations, have been introduced between Chennai, Bangalore and Coimbatore and all major locations in South India. As responsible logistics provider, Eco-Friendly LNG Trailer trucks are introduced by CONCOR at TNPM, Chennai to support faster road movement of containers without polluting the environment and to provide much sought out Carbon Credits to the customers.
